Hana's First Birthday

What a wonderful day we had yesterday when Hana turned one. She had such fun opening her presents and straight away went down for a swim in her new swimsuit. Then last night we went down to Morans' for a birthday dinner and Godmother Kelly came too. Miki had baked a beaut cake as a practice run for the party next Sunday and it came out with a sparkler on it, and we had a balloon arrangement on the table.
It is a different day today as she has just had her one year old vaccination and is fast asleep.

Hana is almost one year old!

I see I haven't posted anything since Wade and Miki were married but that's because we left WA shortly after and were back in communication with everyone. Hana was born on 25 November 2007 after they came back to live with us on the Island and I am writing her life story - ten chapters so far.

I am still very much involved with Toastmasters International and I am studying the Japanese language and also learning to play the bass recorder. I will be performing in both these areas at our U3A Christmas party in a couple of weeks' time.

I'm presently preparing the garden to plant tomatoes, lettuce, basil and capsicum and planting dwarf bean and silverbeet seeds. Possums are our trouble of course so everything has to be protected by netting. It's very overcast here and very humid so have been staying in the airconditioning today so far.
